In the last session of the conference, Caroline asked everyone to divide up into four groups to plan out future ESJP activities. Each of the groups was asked to plan out a certain section of ESJP plans. They were:

  • Research

Each of the plans are displayed below. Click on them for the larger picture.

Visualizing our Future

Chris Rose talked to us about visualization and perception. We live in an anticipatory universe not a mechanistic universe. For blind people, they only experience an object in the immediate when it collides with them. For others, they can access other places/times to know an object before it even gets to them in the present.

Communication can be:
  • background v. foreground
  • royal (theory) v. nomadic (experiment)
  • surface (accessible) v. deep (transformative)
There is a difference between recognition and understanding. Everyone knows what a bicycle looks like but when they actually draw the bicycle, it is incomplete.
